Thank you!

I want to thank everyone who came out and supported the first annual 80 mile motorcycle poker run to raise awareness about Lyme disease and raise money for Lyme research.  We ended up with a total of 120 bikes and 174 riders, raising $4,881.00 after expenses.  Without you, the riders, we could not have pulled this off, so again, Thank you.  Thanks to all the sponsors involved including: Gano’s Power Equipment, John Gagnon’s Pet Resort, The Law Offices of John Haymond, TSI Harley Davidson Columbia and Colchester Vet.  Thank you to Carl Meyers for your great DJ services, Marisa Calvo Design for designing and printing the flyers and Sign Professional’s of Marlborough for making up all the event signs.  This ride could not have happened without the support of the poker run stops, which were Mugsy’s Café in Montville, Burke’s Tavern in Niantic, Knucklehead’s Café in Moodus, Ernie’s Café in East Hampton, and Fat Cat’s Bar and Grill in Colchester as well as the support staff that manned all the ride stops including: Lori and Rich Eifler, Chris and Connie Turkington, Kelly Palmer, Jamie Miller, Darnell Begun, Terry MacCalmont, Terry Chasse, Holly Currie, Frank and Norma Gargano.

I have to send out a special thank you to Rich Cady of Fat Cat’s Bar and Grill for allowing us to host the event at his place and both the Fat Cat’s staff and Beth from Knucklehead’s for making all the food.

I also need to recognize and thank the people who put this ride completely together, from just a idea to an actual route, shirt design, logo design, flyers, distribution, raffle prizes, door prizes and publicity.  Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed the ride, so again thank you to Steve Wovkanech, Vic Chasse and Sandy Brule for making this ride happen.

Please mark your calendar for this years ride, Sunday August 3, 2008.
Thank you all!
